Default Toucher Team in AB

I've been noticing a increase with toucher teams especially on the Luxon side. Today I fought five matches and two of those matches had a toucher team. It's not just today. More and more I've been noticing more toucher teams.

I was playing a monk and it was really annoying I got constantly snared and I died in 8 seconds. While my team was attacking the touchers and not the snarer. My whole team ended up dieing. If they took out the snarer THEY could at least run back to the necro shrine for help. Oh yeah, my warrior used Glads D and Riposte.

It's getting really annoying. Noobs don't know how to counter it. The sin shadow steps, takes 450 damage, tries to run while snared and died. He couldn't wait 2 seconds for me to get there and heal him. Not to mention my team split after that. What good is a monk if he can't heal his party. The score was 100 to 350 and I was stuck capping with the ele. I raged quit and they called me a noob. Right...

Over three days, I counted. 6 toucher teams. We lost to them all but one.

Is it just me or is there more toucher teams? Because of them, AB is falling apart.

AB has been falling apart for a long time, as far as i can tell its now only filled with 13 year olds shouting "suxons" and "kurdicks" using ridiculously bad builds and/or farming builds.

The AB as a whole idea is flawed to the core, if you put 24 people in a match, do you think they want to run around getting shrines or fight eachother?

Most PuGS in AB are retarded. Even if they're the ones who are losing the game for you they'll still call you a noob.

Easier to get faction FFF'ing anyway.

Thing is is AB is one of those PvP matches (like CMs) where PvEers can move through and gain an iterest in PvP.

Sure, those touchers probably dont fall into the above, and sure there will always be the odd idiot who will ask you 'how do i score points' because he skipped the intro cinematic and has no idea what hes doing.

AB is supposed to be fun:

I hate it when people say this but it sort if has to be said here: find a good guild, and do everything with them...

Im part of a PvE based guild, and we still do AB as our main event.

In short, all the noobness and stupidity of AB is there to be made fun of: its like getting a warrior with flare in RA, so just enjoy it =)

Touchers arent that big a deal. Ur problem wasnt the toucher team, ur problem was ur nub team... glads defence wars are about as useful as a wammo with 4 skills on his bar:

[Mending][Healing Hands][Frenzy][Heal Sig]

Hell, make it worse, so he can take x4 damage more oftne, bring along [Crude Swing]

Point being, that if you want to win AB, dont pug. If you dont pug and you're still failing get better teammates. If you do, and ur still failing, work out the last remaining common factor... deal with that however you see fit.

(For those that missed the subtlety its a roundabout way of saying /uninstall)

Toucher Teams aren't that bad anymore. There are plenty of counters to them, mostly dealing with Snares.

When Factions first came out, the Touch Teams were in full force. You didn't go into ANY AB without having at least 3 R/N's running you down, getting pervy, and dancing on your corpse a few seconds later.

Interrupts own Touchies, as having their skills shut down screws their combo hard.

Snares own Touchies, they have no way to remove them, and soon find themselves the target of so much hate that they crumble.

Mesmers are probably the best counter to Touchies. They can use Virulence to punish them for the ever-constant receive/touch-off of Conditions. Blackouts pwn Touchies, because without their skills, a Touchie can't do anything but move. I forget which skill it is, but I know it's a Mesmer skill, but there is a skill that if it interrupts, it also shuts down all skills with the same attributes. Then there is always Larceny and Thievery.

If Touchies are giving you serious problems, organize a 4-person AB team. Honestly, it's your best bet. I usually won't go into AB UNLESS I have 2 or 3 other friends willing to go, and even then, it's a toss-up.

Yes there are more toucher's! i have mentioned this on my Guild forum i am certain that there are more toucher's out there! my theory....

newbie warrior wammo
Gets bashed by a toucher
Newbie makes a toucher

/doh
and when you say especially on the luxon side..... dude you lost a lot of respect from many peeps here o_O quick edit it out! I have noticed touchers on my own side (kurzick) quite a lot as well its just when i come up against one that i really feel the burn. Of course there piss easy to beat if you have a snare/interrupt it just owns them. I pity the poor Newbies however
I personally enjoy toucher builds the amount of abuse you get from being one just makes me lawl.

Half....sorry...80% of the people in AB cant counter a single toucher - some people dont even understand what "snare" and "kiting" mean. So when four of them come along its not really suprising that the other side loses.

Why do people whinge about touchers? People always go "oh theyre nooby and easy to beat", if so, whats the problem? Yes they take no skill to run, but if theyre easily beaten then just ignore them.

If you can't beat them, then maybe you need to learn how. Snares, kiting, any kind of healing, interupting their 1 second cast touches, anti-block, stance removal. EVERY player should have at least one of these abilities. Even if its just running to support.

AB was never uphill for it come down. There was no golden age of AB. Its pretty much the same as it was when it started. With that in mind Ive been ABing for the past few weeks for about 2/3hours most nights and only came across a few touchers, and no toucher teams - on either side.

dont pug in AB
and if you do, make sure you're partyleader and look at each person's build so you don't have a team that'll suck and die over and over again

No, don't even do that because you'll still get fail boats. If you pug either play cripshot, which works nicely splitting to where you can be the most useful (not mobbing around with your stupid teammates) or a nuker with shield bash or shield force so you can roam around fast capping and fighting with defense against gankers.

And Free Runner is right, most of the people in AB are so stupid that if you do snare touchers they continue stand there taking it, almost makes me cry when you see a wamo putting up glads defense and trying to ripost vs. a toucher or a monk using RoF's and SoA.

Grab a guild team or add good past team mates to friends.

Seriously PuG's in AB are a lucky dip and as such your really starting to comment on the back foot.

I think you've just contradicted yourself. It's because of the terrible, clueless players that go in with PvE farming builds or 1v1 builds that make AB suck, not the touchers.

Lol, died to a toucher? ever heard of return, i h3rd it works wonders :P

But to get to the point, broken build is broken and will be broken forever, it is sinsce factions came out and that's quite alot time ago. They even pointed out that they won't fix the build as they made touch skills an exception in the expertise attribute when that one got altered, but yeah there are quite a lot of em, that's why i play with a cripshot

I think there are more touchers, but they aren't that big of a problem - my team was happily killing them.

For the same reason people hate Sway, boring, easy to beat and just plain stupid.

Meh, I'll just spam Cripshot on recharge instead of running Incendiary for the lolz.

For me that's the allure of AB, usually go there after depressing bouts in other formats. Watching the breeze wamos duke out it while touchers wear down buttons one and two on their keyboards is entertaining for awhile. Then sometimes you get in a skirmish with a decent guild group or friends pug, or a really close game and it's fun. AB and RA are pretty much the same lot, the GW equivalent of pubbing an FPS game. Some serious players like that as a break and some don't I guess. When I see touchers I know those are the same guys who camp machines gun in Day of Defeat in the same spot hours on end, night after night, never getting bored.
